Sudanese sources revealed that drone attacks launched by the "Tasise" coalition targeted Khartoum International Airport and several ammunition and missile depots belonging to Port Sudan forces in its vicinity, amid violent explosions shaking various areas of Khartoum.

The sources told "Erem News" that the attacks hit one of the airport's runways used by Port Sudan forces for smuggling weapons from multiple parties, most notably Iran, along with four ammunition and missile depots near the airport, a fifth depot near the University of Khartoum, as well as sites in the Barri and Nasr Extension areas.

According to the sources, the strikes caused Khartoum Airport to go out of service due to damage to one of its runways and explosions at adjacent military depots, contradicting the narrative issued by Port Sudan authorities which spoke of a temporary closure of the airport used by them for military purposes.

The sources linked the timing of the strikes to retaliation against Port Sudan forces' attacks on Souq Al-Na'am, Al-Majlad, and Al-Dabb areas, which resulted in civilian casualties.

They considered that the drones reaching sensitive military sites in Khartoum reveals the weakness of the air defense system belonging to Port Sudan forces.
