The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the recent American air raids targeting monitoring and observation sites along Iran’s southern coast, stating that these attacks demonstrate Washington’s disregard for its commitments.

In an official statement, the ministry affirmed its determination to defend Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against what it described as American military aggression. The statement emphasized that “these attacks show that the American regime places no value or credibility on its obligations.”

The ministry further asserted that the US strikes constitute a violation of the United Nations Charter and breach the first article of the memorandum of understanding.

Earlier, the US Central Command issued a brief statement on Sunday reporting that US Navy and Air Force fighter jets conducted strikes overnight against ten Iranian military sites located at various points inside and near the Strait of Hormuz. The operation was described as a response to an attack by Iran using a drone against the tanker M/T Kiku.

In response, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy declared that the indiscriminate American gunfire on the city of Sirik does not undermine Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz. It stated that firing upon violators in the strait serves as a reminder to other vessels that the passage remains secure.

The Revolutionary Guard Navy also warned that “the reckoning for American bases in the region will be different, and they will suffer severely in the coming days.”
