Iran Sues 1,895 People for 'Cooperating with Enemies,' Including Journalists
Iran's judiciary has filed charges against 1,895 individuals, including journalists, for allegedly cooperating with Israel and hostile nations during recent conflicts.

Ali Kazemi, the spokesperson for Iran's Judiciary, announced the formation of 476 judicial files and the issuance of 163 indictments in connection with the two recent wars against Iran.
He noted that charges were brought against 1,895 people in cases related to what authorities describe as "cooperation with Israel and hostile countries."
Kazemi stated during press remarks that the review of files linked to the two recent wars is still ongoing before prosecutors' offices and courts, adding that new files are being opened as additional complaints are received.
He clarified that 250 of the total cases involve accusations of "cooperation with Israel and hostile countries against national security and interests," noting that indictments have been issued in 70 of them so far.
According to Kazemi, among the accused are 94 media workers described by him as belonging to "hostile media outlets that incite unrest," while another 1,801 were classified under the category of "natural persons" (individuals).
The spokesperson did not clarify details of the specific acts these individuals are accused of, or the evidence supporting the charges against them.
Kazemi also announced the freezing of funds associated with some of these files, without revealing the identities of the accused or their legal status, including whether they are detained or released, nor providing details on the nature and value of the frozen assets.
These statements come within the framework of judicial measures taken by Iranian authorities against individuals accused of cooperating with countries and entities they describe as "hostile," alongside measures to freeze or seize assets related to these cases.
Tehran Prosecutor General Ali Salehi had previously announced on September 22 last year the identification of 2,191 bank accounts belonging to 394 individuals.
Salehi accused these individuals of cooperating with hostile countries during the two recent wars and the protests witnessed in Iran last year, without revealing their identities, the details of the charges against each, or whether final judicial verdicts had been issued against them.
