Iranian Police Officer Killed in Armed Attack in Sistan and Baluchestan
An Iranian police officer was killed in an armed assault in Sistan and Baluchestan province, with security forces pursuing the attackers.

The Iranian police announced on Wednesday that a police officer was killed during an armed attack in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
The police media center in Sistan and Baluchestan stated that the officer was shot by unidentified armed individuals while carrying out his duties in the province.
Security agencies have initiated operations to track down and apprehend the assailants, according to the police media center.
Iranian media reported that the attack took place in the Iranshahr area. A militant group known as the Popular Resistance Front, which includes the Justice Army organization, claimed responsibility for the assault through its social media accounts, as reported by outlets monitoring the developments.
Separately, on Tuesday, official Iranian media reported that two members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed and two others wounded in an attack described by the Guard as "terrorist" in Kermanshah province in western Iran on Monday evening.
The statement indicated that the attackers opened fire in front of the Guard members' residence, and authorities are conducting an investigation to identify those responsible.
