Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Tehran emerged victorious from the war and must now be seen as a new regional force, accusing the UAE of siding with the US and Israel.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi launched a fresh attack on the United Arab Emirates on Friday, declaring that his country had emerged victorious from the war and calling for it to be recognized as a new regional power. Speaking on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, Araghchi said the common thread in all bilateral meetings was the current situation and the “illegal war and aggression” against Iran.
According to Araghchi, every nation he met with was eager to understand how Iran managed to withstand the conflict and emerge “with its head held high,” as well as what the future holds for the region. He noted a striking shift in international perception: “All countries now acknowledge that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the victor in this war, that it managed to thwart the enemies’ objectives, impose its will, and gain a new standing.”
The Iranian minister stressed that from now on, the world must view Iran differently—as a force and actor capable of confronting even the largest powers. He claimed this sentiment was evident in the remarks of all delegations at the BRICS meeting. “Everyone I met, and everyone who spoke, indicated in one way or another that for the future of the region and its mechanisms, there must be a new outlook that takes into account the realities that emerged after this war,” Araghchi said.
He described the conflict as a turning point that had significantly elevated Iran’s status. “Now is the time for the Islamic Republic of Iran to solidify its position and demonstrate its regional role more than ever before,” he added.
Turning his fire on the UAE, Araghchi accused the Gulf state of siding with the US and Israel during the war. “The UAE stood with America and Israel in this war, and it cannot now play the victim and say its land was attacked,” he said. He claimed to possess “precise information, confessions from US officials, and clear documents” showing that the UAE had placed American bases at the disposal of operations against Iran, opened its airspace and territory, and provided services to US forces.
Araghchi noted that Iran had only targeted American assets on Emirati soil. He explained that he had avoided raising these issues to preserve unity within the BRICS group, but was forced to “restore the facts to the international community” after the UAE representative brought them up.
In a closing message to the UAE, Araghchi advised that neither Israel nor America could guarantee their security. “Just as the American bases carried out all the measures, they also saw the result. It is better for them to change their view toward the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he said. He reminded the UAE that Iran and the UAE are neighbors who have lived side by side for many years and will continue to do so. “This requires seeking security through cooperation between the countries of the region, not by relying on outside powers,” he concluded.
