Iraqi Security Source: Large Weapons Stockpile Seized at Anbar MP’s Farm

An Iraqi security source disclosed the execution of a specialized security operation in Anbar Province that led to the discovery of a substantial stockpile of weapons and military equipment on a farm owned by a sitting member of Iraq’s Council of Representatives.

Operation in Al-Mahmadi, Hit District

A security force deployed from Baghdad carried out a precise field mission in Al-Mahmadi, a locality within the Hit district in western Anbar Province. The operation was conducted in coordination with the First Anbar Regiment of the Counter-Terrorism Service.

The mission formed part of ongoing security efforts aimed at tracking down unlicensed firearms and curbing their proliferation across the region.

Weapons Cache Confirmed

The source, speaking to Al-Sumaria News, stated that the operation inside the named farm resulted in the seizure of “a large cache and stockpile of weapons and military materials.”

Security forces removed all seized items from the site. They continue conducting follow-up security and inspection procedures throughout the area to verify the absence of additional suspicious materials.
