Jordan's King warned US Secretary of State Marco Rubio about Israeli escalations in southern Syria, emphasizing support for Syrian stability.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II raised concerns regarding the repercussions of Israeli escalation in southern Syria during a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The monarch reaffirmed the Kingdom’s stance alongside Syria in efforts to bolster its security and stability.
The Jordan News Agency reported that the call took place on Friday, focusing on regional de-escalation initiatives. King Abdullah II stressed the necessity of reaching a comprehensive ceasefire agreement that guarantees the security and sovereignty of Arab nations.
He highlighted the pivotal role the United States plays in supporting regional stability efforts. The discussion also covered outcomes from the recent "Aqaba Meetings" initiative held in France, which aimed to mobilize international support for the Lebanese Army to fulfill its responsibilities in maintaining Lebanon’s security.
During the exchange, the King reiterated his warning against the consequences of Israeli actions in southern Syria. He confirmed Jordan’s continued alignment with Damascus in strengthening its territorial sovereignty and internal stability.
These diplomatic communications coincide with recurring Israeli incursions into areas of southern Syria, particularly Quneitra and the western countryside of Daraa. Reports indicate ongoing house raids, military vehicle deployments, and drone surveillance in these zones.
