Kushner and Maladynov Visit Israel to Discuss Trump's Gaza Plan with Netanyahu

U.S. Special Envoy Jared Kushner and UN Mediator Niccolò Malalini are planning a visit to Israel to discuss launching President Donald Trump’s 15-point Gaza plan with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The two are expected to arrive in Israel next week, according to Axios, citing five sources familiar with the plan.

This will be Kushner’s first visit to Israel since January, and comes as the White House and Trump’s peace team seek to advance the next phase of the Gaza initiative, which focuses on disarming Hamas and the potential Israeli withdrawal.

Netanyahu’s government remains skeptical about the U.S. Gaza plan, and upcoming elections in October heighten the political sensitivity of the issue.

A senior U.S. official said: "We are fully aligned on the strategic goal, but Israel has expressed some reservations about the plan, and we want to talk with them to ensure coordination," while also noting that visit dates may change.

Two weeks ago, Trump announced that his peace team had reached an agreement with Hamas calling for disarmament and transferring civil and security control of the Gaza Strip to a new Palestinian technocratic government.

On Sunday, under pressure from coalition partners and political opponents, Netanyahu publicly rejected the Hamas disarmament plan.

His statement came days after a phone call with Kushner, during which he pledged to give the plan a chance despite his doubts. He also committed to reducing attacks on Gaza to allow the disarmament process to begin, according to a U.S. official.
