Moldovan President Maia Sandu announced that Russian missiles and drones penetrated the country's airspace and exploded on its territory.

Sandu said in statements today, Saturday: "The war is approaching us dangerously close."

Moldova is witnessing an escalation in airspace breach incidents, coinciding with intensified Russian air attacks on Ukraine, prompting President Sandu to warn that the repercussions of the war are directly reaching Moldovan soil.

Regarding the incident that occurred this Saturday morning, Moldovan authorities reported that several drones flew over parts of the country, including Anenii Noi, Stefan Voda, Hincesti, Todora, and Causeni.

Explosions were also reported in rural areas and drone debris fell in Causeni, Stefan Voda, Anenii Noi, and Hincesti, while authorities continued monitoring airspace and investigating the incidents.

These developments follow another incident on September 30, when Moldovan authorities announced that three drones breached their airspace during a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine, two of which fell inside Moldovan territory.

Official Moldovan data indicates that the frequency of airspace breach incidents has clearly increased since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war. In contrast, Russia denies the Moldovan accusations.
