Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed that Israel will not permit Iran to reconstruct its capabilities that could endanger its security, according to the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

Speaking at a ceremony marking the handover of the Mossad intelligence agency's leadership to the new head, Roman Gofman, Netanyahu stated, "The Iranian regime is destined to disappear, and we will assist in bringing it to that end," emphasizing that Tehran "will not return to threaten Israel's existence."

He added, "We will not allow the Iranian regime to turn back the clock, nor will we allow it to acquire nuclear weapons, nor to threaten our existence."

The United States and Israel initiated a conflict against Iran on February 28, which led to a temporary ceasefire on April 8.

On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that talks with Iran are "continuing at a rapid pace," following threats from the Revolutionary Guard to "open new fronts" if Israel does not halt its military operations in Lebanon.
