New 125-Ton Crane Arrives at Tartous Port to Boost Operations
A modern 125-ton capacity crane has been delivered to Tartous Port to enhance operational efficiency and cargo handling capabilities.

A new port crane with a lifting capacity of 125 tons arrived at Tartous Port on Tuesday, marking a step toward improving the port’s operational readiness and increasing the efficiency of unloading goods and containers.
Youssef Arnous, head of the Operations and Investment Department at Tartous Port, stated that the crane’s commissioning will enhance the port’s productivity and accelerate the loading and unloading of ships. He added that this development will positively impact commercial traffic and described it as the start of a program to rehabilitate and replace the port’s operational equipment.
The crane’s arrival is part of a 30-year concession agreement signed in July 2025 between the Syrian Authority and Dubai Ports World (DP World). This agreement includes a planned investment of 3 billion UAE dirhams (equivalent to 800 million US dollars) aimed at developing the port’s infrastructure and managing its operations.
