Electricity supply was interrupted for thousands of residents along the eastern seaboard of the United States last evening as a strong Nor'easter began to make its impact. The storm is forecast to create hazardous conditions throughout the upcoming weekend holiday period.

Coastal flooding in New Jersey

In the coastal community of Manasquan, New Jersey, water inundated several roadways. Authorities issued voluntary evacuation orders for low-lying areas in the region. Additionally, dozens of flights destined for airports in Boston, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard were cancelled.

Seabright is preparing for wind speeds reaching 80 kilometers per hour. Floodwaters in some streets are expected to rise up to 1.8 meters. Forecasts indicate that flooding will intensify starting today, Saturday.
