Putin emphasized the need for a thorough investigation before determining the origin of the drone that crashed in Romania.

President Putin addressed the situation regarding the drone that crashed in Romania during a press conference following his visit to Kazakhstan. He stated that he had been briefed on the incident.
Putin remarked, "The initial reaction in the European Union to any drone is to label it as Russian, only for this claim to be later disproved." He affirmed that "an objective investigation will be conducted and an assessment will be provided if factual data about the drone that crashed in Romania is received."
He added that Ukrainian drones have previously flown over Finland, Poland, and some Baltic states, with initial responses mirroring the current reaction to the Romanian incident.
The president explained that these drones tend to deviate from their courses due to electronic warfare or technical malfunctions.
Earlier reports from the Romanian Ministry of Defense indicated that a drone collided with the roof of a multi-story residential building in the border city of Galați, resulting in injuries to two individuals.
Romania accused Russian authorities of being behind the incident without providing evidence, and the Romanian military was unable to intercept the drone despite detecting it with radar systems.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Western countries were creating a commotion about the drone crash in Romania to divert attention from the Kyiv regime's killing of children in Starobilsk.
