US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that dealing with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would be easier in the absence of Iranian intervention, considering the Iranian regime to be the main engine of instability and wars in the Middle East region.

Rubio added in an interview with the American website "Breitbart" that the US political establishment has traditionally viewed the Palestinian issue as the pivotal issue in efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East, but he believed that US President Donald Trump demonstrated that Iran represents the most prominent factor behind disturbances and conflicts in the region.

The US Secretary of State clarified that he does not consider the Palestinian issue unimportant, but emphasized the need to reassess the factors hindering the establishment of peace, stating that evidence supports considering the Iranian regime the main obstacle to regional stability.

Rubio: Tehran at the Heart of Conflicts
Rubio pointed out that the repercussions of the Iranian role are also evident in Lebanon, considering that Tehran's intervention contributes to fueling crises and conflicts in the region and complicates efforts aimed at resolving them.

He said that the absence of hardline clerics in Iran, whom he described as radical Shia clerics, would have prevented the emergence of many of the existing problems in the Middle East.

He added that the Palestinian issue might have remained even in the absence of Iran, but he considered that addressing it would have been easier without the Iranian role, affirming that identifying the entity driving instability and wars constitutes a fundamental step toward addressing the region's crises.

The Palestinian Issue in US Calculations
Rubio's statements reflect a trend that places Iran's role at the forefront of Washington's explanation for the causes of conflict and instability in the Middle East, while maintaining acknowledgment that the Palestinian issue remains one of the ongoing files in the region.

The US Secretary of State believes that accurately identifying sources of tension is necessary to reach solutions, considering the Iranian role a central element in the continuation of crises, an assessment he presented during the interview as part of the Trump administration's vision for the challenges facing regional peace efforts.
