US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed today, Monday, that President Donald Trump is open to any steps that would help end the conflict in Ukraine.

This came during press remarks made by Rubio during a visit to Uzbekistan to participate in a meeting of the "C5+1" group, which includes the United States and five Central Asian countries: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

Rubio said, "I believe the President (Trump) is open to everything he can do to help put an end to the conflict, if possible," adding that the United States will continue to seek opportunities to end the dispute in Ukraine.

Rubio explained that Trump suspended the activation of new sanctions against Russia for 60 days because he wants to see whether the ongoing talks with both Russia and Ukraine will lead to a "positive outcome" and allow avoiding another "catastrophic year" of conflict.

Rubio stated that the United States has not stopped transferring intelligence information to Ukraine, denying claims by Volodymyr Zelensky regarding a temporary halt in data exchange.
The US Minister emphasized the need for Ukraine and Russia to focus on "ending the war."

Rubio confirmed discussions are underway regarding arranging a trilateral meeting between the leaders of the United States, Russia, and China during the "APEC" summit in China next month.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly affirmed Russia's desire to end combat operations in Ukraine as quickly as possible through a peaceful settlement, stressing that Moscow is ready for negotiations but does not see similar willingness from the Kyiv regime.

In recent days, Trump expressed dissatisfaction with Zelensky's lack of readiness to reach peace agreements, considering that he never sought a settlement, and also viewed that Ukraine needs a new leader capable of negotiating with Russia.
