Russia strikes Izmail port and two ships in Black Sea
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that drone attacks targeted the infrastructure of the Izmail port and hit two vessels carrying military cargo.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated on Thursday morning that its forces struck facilities at the "Izmail" port located in Odesa region. The announcement confirmed that two ships off the Ukrainian coast, which were transporting military loads, were also hit during the operation.
Details of the overnight drone strikes
In a released statement, the ministry clarified that unmanned aerial vehicles carried out the attacks throughout the previous night. The primary objective was the infrastructure of the "Izmail" port, which Moscow claims is utilized for unloading and storing shipments intended for the Ukrainian army.
The ministry specified that these facilities handle both direct military supplies and dual-use goods destined for Kyiv's forces. This characterization aligns with Russia's ongoing narrative regarding Western logistics support to Ukraine.
Targeting vessels en route to Odesa
The report added that the strike successfully impacted two additional vessels while they were navigating through the sea. These ships were reportedly heading toward the port of Odesa when they were targeted by the drone units.
According to the Defense Ministry, both affected vessels were carrying military cargo at the time of the incident. The agency did not provide further details on the extent of damage or the specific types of weapons transported.
