Russia Targets Ukrainian Military Facility and Ships in Black Sea

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces targeted a facility used by the Ukrainian army in the port of Izmail (Ismail) in Odesa Oblast, as well as an Ukrainian naval patrol boat in the Black Sea.

In a statement released Monday morning, the ministry said its drones targeted a cargo complex used to receive military shipments "provided by Western countries to the Ukrainian armed forces."

It added that an Ukrainian patrol boat, used to escort ships carrying military cargo, was hit in waters of the Black Sea.

The statement also noted that Russian drones targeted the dry cargo ship "Mafka" late Sunday evening, loaded with military equipment and supplies, at the port of Chornomorsk in southern Odesa.

These strikes are part of the continued campaign by Russian armed forces targeting port infrastructure and vessels used to support Ukraine’s military.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry announced a series of intensive strikes targeting logistics infrastructure around the capital Kyiv and ships supplying Ukrainian forces in the Black Sea, according to Sputnik news agency.

The ministry’s statement said Russian forces launched a drone attack overnight targeting the "Biyokon" logistics center in the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka in Kyiv Oblast, confirming the site is used for storing and distributing military cargo.

The strikes also included the "Novaya Buchta" logistics center, two dry cargo ships, and maritime infrastructure relied upon by Ukrainian forces.
