Russia: Ukrainian Drones Target Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant Laboratory

Russia said today, Sunday, that Ukrainian forces launched a drone attack on a laboratory at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is controlled by Moscow, but there were no reports of significant damage or casualties.

It also stated that the plant continues its operations normally, according to Reuters.

The Zaporizhzhia plant is located on the left bank of the Dnipro River, near the city of Enerhodar, and comprises 6 power units with a total capacity of six gigawatts, making it a pivotal facility in the regional energy system.

Since October 2022, the plant has been under the management of Russian experts and completely stopped generating electricity since September of the same year, entering the full shutdown phase in April 2024.
