Russian Airstrikes in Odesa Wound 17, Including 3 Children, Damage

Odesa’s military administration head Serhiy Lysak reported via Telegram that Russian aerial attacks wounded 17 people early Thursday and damaged a 21-story residential building in the Black Sea port city.

Lysak stated that among the injured were three children. Reuters cited his Telegram post, which included footage showing shattered windows of the struck building.

A Reuters witness in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv heard explosion sounds on Wednesday evening amid ongoing Russian air strikes.

Previous Day’s Attack Left Eight Wounded

In a separate Telegram post concerning an attack the previous day, Lysak said Russian strikes damaged infrastructure and residential buildings in the Black Sea city and left eight people wounded.

He specified that damage affected a 24-story residential building and several vehicles in Odesa, Ukraine’s largest seaport.

Russian Defense Ministry Reports Strike Near Pivdennyi Port

Last week, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced its forces had targeted a cargo ship it claimed was delivering supplies to the Ukrainian military at the Pivdennyi port near Odesa.

The ministry also said the port’s infrastructure facilities—used for unloading military cargo—were struck. It added that Russian air defense systems shot down 148 Ukrainian drones overnight.
