At least one person died after a cargo ship caught fire in the Black Sea due to an attack by a Russian drone, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba announced. The Ukrainian Navy reported multiple losses following the assault.

Kuleba stated on Telegram on Monday that the drone strike ignited a vessel flying the Panamanian flag. The casualty was a 58-year-old Egyptian crew member who worked as a cook. Eight other crew members were rescued.

The Ukrainian Navy indicated that the incident caused several damages aboard the cargo ship named Victorious, which was sailing with nine crew members of Egyptian, Turkish, and Indian nationalities. The ship was declared unfit for navigation.

Kuleba added that on Monday night, Russia targeted two other ships flying the flags of Belize and Palau, but no injuries were reported.
