The Russian Federal Security Service arrested a Russian citizen in Novorossiysk for planning a terrorist attack on a passenger train under orders from Ukrainian intelligence.

The Russian Federal Security Service announced it thwarted an attempted terrorist act in the city of Novorossiysk, detaining a Russian national who was operating under the direction of Ukrainian intelligence agencies.
According to a statement from the agency's public relations department, the Federal Security Service prevented a terrorist attempt carried out by a Russian citizen born in 1993, who acted on instructions from Ukrainian security services.
Intelligence reports indicate that the suspect initiated contact independently with a representative of the Ukrainian security service via the Telegram application, receiving an assignment to carry out a bombing on the railway during the passage of a passenger train.
Sources added that the accused studied the provided instructions, procured all necessary materials, and assembled an explosive device which he stored at his residence. Security personnel arrested him while he was conducting reconnaissance on the railway line, with no human casualties or material damage occurring.
A criminal investigation has been launched under the article concerning preparation for a terrorist act. Investigative procedures are ongoing to uncover all details of the network and to establish communication with the foreign entities supervising the plot.
