Russian Forces Target Cargo Ship at Mykolaiv Port Amid Drone Defense Claims
Russia announced striking a cargo ship at Ukraine's Mykolaiv port and reported shooting down 571 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated on Friday that its forces targeted a bulk cargo ship at the Ukrainian port of Mykolaiv during a loading operation.
The ministry added that the vessel was carrying a military shipment at the time of the strike.
In a separate announcement, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported intercepting and destroying 571 Ukrainian drones overnight from Thursday to Friday across approximately 15 areas within Russia and the Crimean Peninsula.
The ministry specified that the drone attacks were focused particularly on the Leningrad region near Saint Petersburg. There, a warehouse belonging to the major Russian e-commerce company Wildberries was reportedly attacked again, according to local media sources.
