Confirmed Fatalities and Injuries
The Kyiv City Military Administration stated via Telegram that three people were killed and five others wounded “in an enemy attack on the capital,” without elaborating further.
Earlier, the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration announced the death of one person in Borispil, located east of Kyiv city.
Widespread Aerial Assault
Tymur Tkatshenko, Head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration, wrote on Telegram that the Kyiv region “was subjected last night to a large-scale Russian attack using missiles and combat drones,” targeting “civilian infrastructure.”
Within Kyiv city itself, a strike damaged a five-story residential building, resulting in eight injuries—including one child.
On-the-Ground Observations and Warnings
Before the strikes, journalists from Agence France-Presse heard approximately 10 consecutive powerful explosions and observed flashes in the sky over Kyiv following an official warning of an incoming ballistic missile attack on the Ukrainian capital.
The Ukrainian Air Force had earlier warned via Telegram that “the threat of ballistic weapons and other attack means against Kyiv and its region remains in effect” and instructed residents to remain in shelters until the alert is lifted.
