A Russian Su-30SM fighter jet crashed in the Kaliningrad region today, Wednesday; however, the two pilots managed to eject using parachutes and survive the incident, according to Russian media reports.

The RIA Novosti agency reported that the fighter's crew was able to jump from the plane, with no danger to the pilots' lives, noting that the aircraft fell in an unpopulated area and was not carrying any ammunition.

The circumstances and causes of the incident are still under investigation, with no information received regarding other injuries or additional damage resulting from the plane crash.

This incident comes at a time when Russia has experienced other military aviation accidents during the recent period. On October 6, a Mi-8 helicopter crashed in the Gubonovo area south of Kamchatka, in an incident described by Russian reports as a "hard landing," without injuring the three crew members on board.

Previously, a Russian Tu-95MS strategic bomber also crashed alongside a Mi-8 military helicopter in the Voronezh region of Russia.

In a separate incident, a Gripen fighter jet crashed in Hungary, according to earlier reports.
