Saudi Civil Aviation Authority reports attacks on King Khalid International Airport facilities and a Saudia aircraft, resulting in three deaths.
The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that King Khalid International Airport was subjected to two attacks yesterday, Thursday, targeting airport facilities and a Saudi aircraft, resulting in the death of 3 citizens.
In a statement issued today, Friday, the Authority clarified that the first attack targeted the facilities of King Khalid International Airport, while the second attack targeted an aircraft belonging to Saudia Airlines.
These attacks resulted in the death of three Saudi citizens and injuries to several citizens and residents.
The Authority confirmed the resumption of operational activities at the airport and the return of air traffic to normal, noting continued work in integration and coordination with security agencies to assess damages and take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of passengers and staff.
The Authority recently announced that Abha and King Khalid airports were subjected to attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday, which resulted in the deaths of one Moroccan, one Algerian, and one Sudanese national, and injuries to 36 other people. This came after Jazan and Najran airports were targeted on Monday evening, recording three minor injuries.
