Spanish authorities have reinforced police and military presence in the North African enclave of Ceuta following social media messages urging migrants to attempt another mass border crossing on Saturday, two weeks after tens of thousands surged into the city.

Spanish authorities have increased police and military deployment across the North African enclave of Ceuta amid online calls circulating on social media platforms urging migrants to launch a new collective attempt to breach the border on Saturday. The heightened security measures come exactly two weeks after a large-scale incursion in which tens of thousands entered the city.
On Friday evening, soldiers in full uniform stood guard outside major retail stores and official government buildings. Simultaneously, police vehicles conducted intensive patrols along Ceuta’s main thoroughfares.
Despite the visible security buildup, outdoor cafés remained crowded with patrons, and central Ceuta was calm—contrasting sharply with the tense atmosphere that followed the 30 July incident, during which fatalities occurred.
