The Syrian Anti-Narcotics Directorate announced that, with the participation of K9 units, an attempt to smuggle more than 100,000 Captagon pills was thwarted. The drugs were hidden inside the spare tire of a refrigerated truck heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via the Nasib border crossing.
In a statement on Telegram, the Directorate said, "The operation resulted in the seizure of the shipment and the arrest of the perpetrator. The confiscated items were formally seized, and the detainee was referred to the competent authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures."
Earlier, the Anti-Narcotics Directorate announced the dismantling of a smuggling and trafficking network operating in the provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Al-Hasakah and along the Iraqi border. It noted that the Anti-Narcotics branch in Deir ez-Zor managed to dismantle the network, arrested its leader, and confiscated large quantities of the narcotic substance Crystal (Ice).
