The Syrian Ministry of Interior confirmed the successful apprehension of Brigadier General Abdul Ghafar Al-Hussein, a prominent military figure in the former regime’s army, after close monitoring of his activities, according to an official statement from the ministry.
The ministry’s statement indicated that initial information points to Al-Hussein having a history of violations, notably his command of Regiment 66 and supervision of the "Mankat Al-Hatab" checkpoint, where hundreds of residents from Daraa province were detained.
Furthermore, the statement highlighted the former officer’s involvement in documented military operations across various locations.
Investigations revealed that Abdul Ghafar Al-Hussein played a security role by preparing reports and testimonies that contributed to the arrest and disappearance of numerous citizens.
