Taiz Governor Nabil Al-Shamsan issued an urgent national and humanitarian appeal to state leadership, the government, Saudi Arabia, Gulf states, and the international community to immediately save over 6 million people facing a 12-year siege and escalating Houthi military operations.

Taiz Governor Nabil Al-Shamsan issued an urgent national and humanitarian appeal on Sunday to state leadership, the government, Saudi Arabia, Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the international community, demanding immediate action to save more than 6 million people in the province amid escalating military operations by the Houthi group and worsening humanitarian conditions due to the siege imposed on Taiz for nearly 12 years.
Al-Shamsan said in an official appeal that the province is facing one of its most difficult humanitarian and military phases, noting that Houthi escalation has doubled residents' suffering and exacerbated food, medicine, and fuel crises, while warning that the continuation of current conditions threatens the lives, security, and livelihoods of millions of citizens.
The governor demanded that state leadership and the government take exceptional and urgent measures to support Taiz and secure its basic needs, alongside supporting hospitals and vital facilities.
