Trump Announces Exceptional Payment for Medicare Subscribers: $90 for Over 20 Million
The White House announced a one-time $90 payment for over 20 million Medicare Part B subscribers to help cover insurance premiums, with payments expected in early October.

The White House announced on Friday evening that the US administration will provide a one-time payment of $90 to more than 20 million subscribers of Medicare Part B to help pay insurance premiums, according to NBC News.
US President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social announcing the payments: "I am pleased to announce that my administration will immediately begin sending checks worth approximately $100 to more than 20 million wonderful seniors to help pay their Medicare Part B premiums, which we have already significantly reduced."
The White House said eligible seniors will receive the payments in early October.
Trump clarified that the funds will come from the Medicare Improvement Fund, established by Congress in 2008 to make improvements to Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B.
In his post, Trump described the fund as a "useless black box," saying that Congressional Democrats had only used it to pay for waste, fraud, and abuse benefiting their special interest friends, and to raise healthcare costs.
This announcement comes shortly after Trump stated that his administration would give every American citizen $5,000 if Republicans retained control of Congress, a move that drew criticism from both sides, although some Republicans supported the proposal.
