Trump Announces New Granite Helicopter Pad Project at the White House

Former President Donald Trump disclosed his upcoming project involves constructing a new helicopter landing pad at the White House. He specified that the pad will be carved from granite and will feature the White House emblem.

Trump stated that the project’s cost is estimated between $5 million and $6 million, which will be covered by Sikorsky, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin and the supplier of the helicopters used by the White House.

In remarks made to reporters at the White House and reported by the New York Times, Trump expressed his belief that Sikorsky felt "some guilt" because the helicopters had damaged the lawn in the White House garden.

During an event held in the White House Rose Garden, Trump added that the helicopter pad could also serve as a venue for events and press conferences when helicopters are not landing.

He further noted that this project would finally allow the White House to retire helicopters that have been in service for 45 years.

Fox News had reported that Trump highlighted extensive and modern renovation efforts underway at the White House, while sharply criticizing previous presidents, including Joe Biden, for neglecting this historic landmark.

In an earlier speech, Trump affirmed that the iconic building is now receiving the care it requires after years of neglect by former administrations.

He said, "We are returning a lot of love to the White House because, frankly, it was treated very badly by many presidents," using his own words.

Trump added, "We are restoring a lot of love to the White House. This is something that happens roughly every two hundred years; someone comes along to bring back its former glory."

Additionally, Trump announced the completion of the "Lincoln Reflecting Pool," stating, "The water is flowing," accompanied by a video.
