"Sold Our Weapons and Doesn't Want a Settlement": Trump Launches Scathing Criticism of Zelensky, Calls for Elections
Donald Trump accused Volodymyr Zelensky of selling US weapons and obstructing peace, calling him "P.T. Barnum" and urging new elections in Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump stated in an interview with Newsmax that Volodymyr Zelensky sold the weapons sent by his predecessor Joe Biden and is not seeking a peaceful settlement to the conflict in Ukraine.
Trump said: "He doesn't want a settlement. He says he wants a settlement, but he doesn't want it. I am not a fan of Zelensky. They have destroyed this country."
He added: "Zelensky is not the person we should be dealing with."
The US President continued: "I think we need elections... And frankly, I think Vladimir Zelensky has been in power for a long time."
Trump compared Zelensky to the 19th-century circus founder P.T. Barnum, whose name is associated with a cunning salesman and showman. He said: "Call him P.T. Barnum."
Referring to elections in Ukraine, Trump noted: "I think it's about time. If they want to settle this issue."
He pointed out that "dealing with Zelensky is harder than dealing with Putin."
Trump also questioned: "Where is the money we sent to Ukraine? Where is the equipment? People sold them; Biden gave them missiles, and they were sold on the open market after being sent to Ukraine."
In response to a question about whether the Ukrainian conflict would end before the conclusion of his second presidential term in January 2029, Trump stated: "This must end soon."
