Trump Praises Zelensky's Performance in Conflict with Russia
President Trump commended Ukrainian President Zelensky for his resilience in the war against Russia during a White House briefing.

On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is "doing well" in the ongoing conflict with Russia, despite previously expressing that Zelensky lacked "leverage and bargaining chips to win."
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office about Zelensky, Trump said, "He is doing well. He is holding on, at least. There are many people dying on both sides, but I think he is doing well."
Last week, at the G7 summit held in Évian, France, Trump unexpectedly took a stance supportive of Ukraine.
The Republican, who claims to have close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin, engaged in an extended and candid discussion with Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron.
Following the summit, the French president praised the G7 meeting, describing it as a "success" and spoke of a "very deep shift in Trump's approach" toward Ukraine.
