Trump Promotes 'America Lake' in AI-Generated Video

President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated video on his platform Truth Social, showing himself replacing a sign reading "Welcome to Lake Ontario" with another bearing the name "America Lake," before performing his famous dance.

The move came after Trump signed an executive order seeking to officially change the name within the United States, granting the U.S. Department of the Interior a 30-day deadline to update the name in the official geographic names database.

The dispute arises amid escalating trade tensions between the United States and Canada, following stalled trade talks and Washington's imposition of additional tariffs on Canadian imports, as Ottawa prepares countermeasures.

Lake Ontario lies along the border between Canada's province of Ontario and New York State in the U.S., and is one of the five Great Lakes in North America.

Trump previously changed the official U.S. name for the Gulf of Mexico to "Gulf of America" in 2025, a move rejected by Mexico.
