On Wednesday, President Donald Trump declared that "things are going very well" regarding Iran, noting that Tehran has made substantial progress toward an agreement.

Trump referred to holding an "excellent meeting" with the Iranian side and affirmed that Washington is continuing its efforts toward the denuclearization of Iran.

Before departing on a trip, the president told reporters, "The Iranian nuclear disarmament process is going well. They have held very good meetings, and we will see what happens."

He also mentioned that the U.S. military delivered "strong strikes" against Iran last week, emphasizing the parallel pursuit of both military and diplomatic tracks.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump considered the possibility of returning to a full-scale war against Iran and engaged in several recent discussions with the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff about conducting additional strikes. However, he currently opted to continue with the diplomatic approach.

According to multiple U.S. officials cited by the newspaper, Trump informed his aides that he would not object if negotiations with Tehran over a nuclear deal extended beyond the 60-day deadline, which concludes on August 18.

Officials familiar with these discussions told the publication that the main focus was whether the United States should abandon talks and resume broad military attacks on Iran, a move some described as "completing the mission."

On Tuesday, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, President Trump's envoys, arrived in Doha to take part in a new round of negotiations with Iran. Qatari officials stated that the envoys would communicate with their Iranian counterparts through intermediaries rather than directly. Additionally, technical experts from both countries were scheduled to hold indirect talks during the week.
