Trump: Talks with Iran Ongoing, War Costs Offset Through Venezuela
US President Donald Trump stated that negotiations with Iran are underway and claimed that war expenses have been recouped through actions in Venezuela.

US President Donald Trump said early Saturday morning that there are talks with Iran and that the Iranians want to negotiate and continue talking, affirming that war costs were compensated through Venezuela, according to him.
Trump added in a statement to reporters from the Oval Office: "They are not paying their soldiers' salaries, nor are they paying their police officers' salaries. They are facing huge troubles. And frankly, we have plenty of time."
He continued: "It is a war, but it is not a traditional war; we have been there for 7 months and are spending relatively small amounts. Any money we spent has been compensated many times over - nearly 10 times - through what we achieved in a place called Venezuela."
In response to repeated criticism regarding war expenditures, Trump said: "I spent a lot of money to get rid of a nuclear weapon, which we have already accomplished."
He completed by saying: "As for any money we spent regarding Iran, we have compensated it many times over through what we did in Venezuela, where we reaped hundreds of billions of dollars. But they do not mention these things. That is why I love holding press conferences; I can manage affairs, unlike others."
The US president departed heading to the state of Florida, where he will deliver a speech in "Daytona Beach" later this evening.
