Turkey Ready to Host New Russia-Ukraine Talks Upon Clear Signal
Turkey has expressed readiness to host a new round of Russia-Ukraine negotiations if both parties indicate willingness to resume dialogue.

A Turkish government source confirmed that Ankara is prepared to organize a new round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in the near future, provided that both sides send a clear signal expressing their readiness to return to the negotiating table.
The same source told the Novosti agency that Turkey possesses the necessary experience to host such talks and is ready once again to offer a platform for dialogue between the two parties. The source emphasized that Ankara continues to support diplomatic resolution efforts and views negotiations as the only path to achieving lasting peace.
This statement follows Russian President Vladimir Putin’s announcement during a meeting with government members that Moscow is ready to engage in peace talks with Ukraine based on the agreements reached in Istanbul in 2022.
In this context, Russian Ambassador to Turkey Sergey Vershinin stated that Moscow considers Istanbul the most suitable venue for negotiations concerning Ukraine.
In 2025, three rounds of direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine took place in Istanbul. These talks resulted in prisoner exchanges, the return of Ukrainian soldiers’ bodies from Russia to Ukraine, and the exchange of draft memoranda related to conflict resolution between the two sides.
