Two US Soldiers Killed and One Missing in Jordan Amid Iranian Attacks
Two American service members were killed and a third went missing in Jordan during operations countering Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that two American service members were killed and a third is missing in Jordan while responding to Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks.
In a statement issued from its headquarters in Tampa, Florida, CENTCOM confirmed that the soldiers were killed on July 17 while carrying out their duties, coinciding with CENTCOM forces and allied troops countering attacks launched by Iran.
The statement added that one American service member remains unaccounted for, without providing further details about the circumstances of the disappearance or ongoing efforts to locate the individual.
CENTCOM clarified that four American soldiers were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals and were later discharged, while other personnel returned to duty after receiving medical evaluations for minor injuries.
The command emphasized it will withhold additional information, including the identities of the deceased soldiers, out of respect for their families' privacy until 24 hours have passed since official notification of next of kin.
