The UAE Cybersecurity Council announced on Monday it had foiled a series of advanced, coordinated cyberattacks targeting the aviation, energy, and education sectors.

The UAE Cybersecurity Council announced on Monday that it had thwarted a series of advanced and coordinated cyberattacks directed at critical national sectors, including aviation, energy, and education.
The attacks involved attempts to breach digital systems and infrastructure, targeted compromises of user accounts and operational data, and spear-phishing campaigns designed to exploit users in order to gain access to the intended environments.
The Council confirmed that national response teams detected the attacks immediately, traced indicators of compromise, contained the threats, and prevented their spread—stopping the attackers from reaching their objectives or disrupting the continuity of essential services.
The Council stated that the national monitoring and response system operates continuously, leveraging early-warning detection tools, proactive threat analysis, and rapid incident response capabilities to strengthen protection of the country’s digital infrastructure.
These developments come amid an increase in cyber threats facing UAE institutions, including network intrusion attempts, phishing operations, and ransomware campaigns—prompting authorities to reinforce protective measures and deepen coordination among government entities and critical sectors.
