UAE Mediation Secures Release of 320 Prisoners Between Russia and Ukraine
The United Arab Emirates successfully mediated a prisoner exchange involving 160 detainees from each side, raising the total exchanged prisoners to 7,791.

The United Arab Emirates announced the success of its mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine, resulting in a new prisoner exchange involving 160 detainees from the Russian side and 160 from the Ukrainian side. This brings the total number of prisoners exchanged through these mediations to 7,791, according to the official Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the cooperation of the two friendly countries in facilitating the mediation, recognizing the UAE as a trusted international mediator. The ministry also highlighted both nations' appreciation for the UAE's commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at resolving the crisis between them, as reported by WAM.
The ministry added that with the success of this mediation, the total number of UAE-led mediations during the crisis has reached 25. These efforts stem from the distinguished relations the UAE maintains with both the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the UAE will continue its endeavors to support various efforts seeking a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine and to alleviate the humanitarian consequences of the crisis, including issues related to refugees and prisoners.
Ukrainian President Zelensky commented on the exchange of 160 prisoners with Russia, accompanied by video and photos.
