The UK has added two individuals to its Iran-related sanctions list, while Prime Minister Keir Starmer indicated further measures are likely.

The British government has announced the addition of two new individuals to its sanctions list related to Iran. This latest package targets an Iranian citizen involved in state-linked hostile activities outside the country's borders.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that it is highly probable the incident at Fairford base was coordinated in Iran under the direction of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He confirmed that London intends to impose additional sanctions.
In September last year, Britain enacted legislation imposing tougher sanctions on Tehran. The law increased commercial restrictions and expanded powers to target vessels, described by the government as part of broader efforts to curb the nuclear program and limit other hostile activities.
According to the government, these measures restrict Iran's access to the British financial system. They also widen the trade ban to cover additional goods, technologies, and services, while prohibiting Iranian aircraft from landing in the UK except in exceptional circumstances.
