Ukraine announces targeting of 3 critical facilities in Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that the army targeted a Russian missile and space center in Samara.

He added via the Telegram app that Ukraine also launched an attack on the Russian Su-35 fighter jet base in Savaslyka.

Zelensky also announced that his country’s military targeted a Russian oil facility in Ost-Luga.

Zelensky did not specify the facility in his Telegram statement, but said it sustained damage from the attack.

Ukraine had previously shelled a Russian gas condensate processing station in the port city of Ost-Luga on the Baltic Sea on Friday.

In response, Russian authorities in the Samara region said Ukraine targeted industrial infrastructure in the area.

Ivan Nuskov, mayor of Samara, the region’s capital, said air defenses repelled a "large-scale attack".

He added in an online post: "Industrial infrastructure in Samara sustained limited damage," without providing further details about the affected facility.

Ukraine has previously targeted the Cezaran oil refinery located on the Volga River in the Samara region, southwest Russia, as part of its campaign to strike energy facilities and pressure Russia to end the conflict ongoing for more than four years.
