US CENTCOM Reports Iran Attacked Over 30 Ships, Facilitated 450 Million Barrels Oil Transit

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that Iran targeted over 30 commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz during a 90-day period, while CENTCOM facilitated the transit of 900 commercial vessels through the strait since early May.

A statement released by CENTCOM on Wednesday revealed that in the past three months, Iran attacked more than 30 commercial ships navigating the vital Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for regional and global trade.

The statement accused Iran of exposing hundreds of innocent sailors to danger through these "unjustified attacks," which also undermined freedom of navigation.

Despite Iranian aggression, the statement confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz remains open to commercial shipping. Since the beginning of May, CENTCOM forces have assisted in the passage of nearly 900 commercial vessels and 450 million barrels of crude oil.

This CENTCOM statement was issued on July 21, marking the 11th consecutive day of operations against Iran.

Furthermore, the statement detailed that CENTCOM assets targeted Iranian military operation centers, naval capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, and military logistics infrastructure. These actions aim to further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
