US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warns Europe faces an influx of dangerous ideologies amid rising migrant arrivals in southern European countries.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that "boats and people" are arriving in Spain, Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria. He made these remarks during a speech held in northern France to mark the 82nd anniversary of the Allied landing in Normandy.
Hegseth emphasized that European nations allied with Washington are confronting an invasion by "dangerous ideologies." He specifically referred to the migration flows into southern European countries, describing them as an attack on European shores.
"Unfortunately, other European coasts today face an assault from various dangerous ideologies. Boats and people are flowing into Spain, Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria," Hegseth said, highlighting the issue of illegal immigration to these nations.
He questioned whether European capitals would take action against this perceived invasion or if it was already too late, adding, "I think it is not too late yet."
Hegseth also underscored that Washington supports its allies and expects them to be capable and ready to support the United States in return.
