US Forces Target Iranian Drone Control Sites in Southern Iran
The US military announced defensive strikes on radar and drone control sites in southern Iran following the downing of an American MQ-1 drone.

The US military declared on Monday that American forces carried out attacks targeting radar systems and drone control locations in southern Iran over the past weekend.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated via the platform X: "CENTCOM conducted defensive strikes against radar systems and drone control sites in Goruk and Qeshm Island at the end of this weekend."
The command added that these strikes were in response to the downing of an American MQ-1 drone flying over international waters. It further noted that the strikes were deliberate and planned, occurring on Saturday and Sunday.
Last week, both sides exchanged attacks as well. Iran targeted a US airbase after the US military, according to a Washington official, executed strikes against an Iranian drone operation near the Strait of Hormuz.
