US Officials: Use of 'Mother of All Bombs' Against Iran Under Serious Study
US officials told CNN that deploying the 'Mother of All Bombs,' America's largest non-nuclear weapon, is under serious consideration for targeting Iranian energy and nuclear infrastructure.

US officials revealed to CNN that using the "Mother of All Bombs," the largest non-nuclear munition in the US arsenal, is a option under serious study for targeting energy infrastructure and nuclear sites in Iran.
The network had revealed in mid-October this month that the US military developed new offensive plans including the possibility of using the "Mother of All Bombs" to target energy infrastructure and nuclear facilities in Iran.
The network reported at the time, citing informed sources, that "the use of the bomb depends on a decision by President Donald Trump to resume combat operations, either before or after the midterm elections."
US President Donald Trump hinted, during an interview conducted the following day with the American network Newsmax, about the possibility of using the tactical bomb (GBU-43/B) - known as the "Mother of All Bombs" - for the first time in the conflict with Iran.
The network quoted officials saying that advisors have drawn up plans to launch new strikes against Iran, in coordination with Israel, which can be executed immediately upon giving US President Donald Trump the green light.
Officials clarified that "targets include nuclear sites and energy facilities, in addition to what remains of Iran's missile and drone arsenal," noting that "a renewed conflict, if it occurs, will be short but intense."
According to the network, "there is no guarantee that Trump will agree to launch new attacks; he has previously backed down from positions where he appeared close to ordering a new attack. However, during his tours across the country this month, he strongly hinted before crowds at his rallies that a decisive action should be expected in the near future."
