US Vice President Vance Sees No Evidence of Iran Closing Strait of Hormuz, Plans Talks in Switzerland
US Vice President JD Vance denies evidence of Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz and announces upcoming negotiations with Iran in Switzerland.

US Vice President JD Vance stated that there is no evidence indicating that Iran continues to close the Strait of Hormuz. This statement contradicts recent claims by the Iranian military about re-closing the strait in response to Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon.
Speaking to Fox News, Vance said, "We do not see any signs that the Iranians are still closing the Strait of Hormuz," but added that the mine-clearing operation would take some time.
In a related development, Vance revealed plans to travel soon to Switzerland to conduct talks with the Iranian side. He indicated that he expects to depart within the coming days, noting that the trip requires diplomatic coordination and procedures.
The US Vice President added that Washington "will give a chance to negotiate with Iran," expressing confidence in the ability to maintain the ceasefire agreement despite escalating field tensions caused by Tehran's decision to close the vital waterway for global energy supplies.
Vance also confirmed that US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, have already arrived at the negotiation site with Iran. He suggested that the talks are likely to take place next Sunday.
