Military developments in Yemen saw Houthi fighters capture multiple villages and mountainous areas following the withdrawal of government units. According to government military sources, the group took control of Mount Matran and Mount Thamran after the 35th Armored Brigade pulled out and fled the area.

The same sources reported that the Houthis also secured positions in the Bani Yousef district and Jabal Habashi region. Active clashes are currently underway in the Najd Qaseem area between government forces and Houthi militants, as the group attempts to advance toward the Al-Dabab zone.

Government Forces Repel Attacks

In response to these advances, government troops successfully repelled a Houthi assault on the Masrakh front in southern Taiz. Earlier on Wednesday, military sources stated that government forces thwarted another attack by the group on villages in the Al-Mudharraba wa Ras Al-Aara district.

This confrontation resulted in casualties among both sides. Following the arrival of military reinforcements to the region, Saudi fighter jets conducted airstrikes targeting Houthi positions.

Saudi Airstrikes Target Positions

The aerial bombardment occurred one day after government forces announced the launch of a military operation from Al-Mudharraba wa Ras Al-Aara toward Al-Waziya. This strategic movement aims at areas overlooking Al-Makha and Bab al-Mandab.
