Yemeni Forces Target Hotel Housing Houthi Command Center in Taiz (Video)
Yemeni government forces announced early Saturday that airstrikes targeted a Houthi command and control center and two tanks at the Sofitel hotel east of Taiz.
Yemeni government forces announced early Saturday morning that their warplanes launched airstrikes targeting a command and control center and two tanks belonging to the Houthi militia at the Sofitel hotel east of Taiz.
The military spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces posted a video on his "X" platform account, stating it documented the Yemeni forces' strike on the aforementioned hotel.
Colonel Majid Al-Nazili said that the "command and control center was neutralized and two tanks were destroyed in the abandoned Sofitel hotel in Taiz, with the aim of protecting innocent civilians."
Earlier, Al-Nazili noted that his forces "observed over the past days several failures in launching ballistic missiles belonging to the terrorist Houthi militia during or after launch, as well as their deviation and fall into populated areas."
He explained that this "poses a direct threat to civilians and their property, in addition to the continued use of these missiles to threaten the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, international shipping lanes, and global navigation and trade security."
He mentioned that "over the past weeks, the militia's missile capabilities suffered impactful strikes affecting missile storage facilities and launch platforms due to attacks by the armed forces."
