Yemeni government forces thwarted multiple attacks launched by Houthi militias on their positions west of Taiz city today, Thursday, following fierce and prolonged clashes fought by the army, supported by the popular resistance, in the Jabal Han, Al-Thulathin, and Old Airport fronts.

According to field sources for "Erem News," the Houthi militias were forced to retreat militarily after failing to achieve any breakthrough against the army and popular resistance forces.

The sources indicated that the militias directed the leaders of the attacking units to withdraw their elements and entrench themselves in defensive positions around Jabal Han, west of Taiz city, after sustaining losses during the clashes.

Following the failure of their attack on the Jabal Han front, the Houthi militias pushed combat units and additional reinforcements, preparing to launch a new attack via the Al-Bireen – Najd Qaseem road towards the Al-Dhabab area, west of Taiz.

In the same context, incoming information reported that warplanes conducted several airstrikes targeting Houthi reinforcements and their concentration sites in the Al-Dhabab area, resulting in the destruction of part of them, amid calls to continue air coverage to target the remaining reinforcements and limit their military movements.

To that end, the European Union called on the Houthis to lift the siege imposed on the city of Taiz and allow the entry of food, water, medicine, and fuel into it.

It confirmed in a statement that it is following the situation in Taiz with great concern, stressing the necessity of protecting civilians and civilian infrastructure, and enabling partners to provide essential aid.

On the western coast, Asil Al-Suqailidi, spokesperson for the Southern Giants Brigades, confirmed the elimination of the last company belonging to the so-called "11th Reserve Brigade," noting that the militias had previously lost the so-called "10th Reserve Brigade," along with the destruction of what are known as the Houthi Karrar Brigades, which he said were established with support from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

He added that the Giants forces and the Subaiha forces will continue to confront the remaining formations of the Houthi militias.
